The meaning of Maroon not found in Google search or in the article...
I want to know the meaning and origin of these words 'Maroon', ‘Marar’, and 'Maram'.
Marar Park is located in Nagaon Town 27 kilometres from Batadrwa or Bordoa.
Entrance gate of Batadrawa Architecture seems to be the ethnic culture only construction seems to be within last 100 years.
Pros:
1. Neat, clean and tidy.
2. Historical place
3. Pilgrimage tourist place.
Cons:
1. No proper guide to describe the local History as Historical place of importance.
(There is no key location map near the main entrance)
2. This place loses its past Glorious Day and It is obvious that the market near entrance will grow day by day.
HIGHLIGHTS
[ This Maroon Satra Gate design Just seems as China and Taiwan traditional Architecture rather precisely we can say, “architecture originated from the state of Zeijiang, situated in eastern part of china nearer to modern Taiwan (an island in East china sea) where Sculpture of Laughing Buddha or Lord Budai originated during 10th Century i.e., 1000AD. The Elephant and the Horse Sculpture in this Gate resemblance with Laughing Buddha Sculpture. As there was no trained Guide I just look as a common tourist view or layman's view. Even the colour combination just represents that.]

I am not an anthropologist; I just wanted to read the architecture as an engineer and anthropological depict on that...
There is Meen (Fish) in the mouth of Makara (Mugger) on top.
On both side entrance there is Elephant mating pose with Horse...
Makara in Astra meaning is Capricorn and Meen is Pisces.
Meen just in the mouth of Makar.
That locate on top of gate. It could be place on different locations in this Gate.
Whereas Fish and Mugger is aquatic animal but it places on the top of Marron Gate Both sides.
At Central part we have one face that the king of Ancient Egypt 'RA' like may be the Yug purush on later stage.
At the centre two birds clearly denotes Suk and Saari to me.
Just left of this an animal like water elephant with fish in mouth but water elephant is harbivorus......?
More over the shape of the mouth not match below is the image of water elephant....which we might seen on animal planet or discovery tv channel.
If we see this creature as Leo( body) and makara(head) and meen just entering...this occurance happen in both astrology and astronomical study.
All depicts that we can take this course before brahmo- muhurt.
A deeper study may be arranged by appropriate authority to establish the knowledgeable forefathers those who govern this country with their knowledge and treatment.
Inference: Astro always relates to sky. Fish & Mugger, placed on top of the Gate therefore, I accept these two as Pisces and Capricorn.
My Further study on the basis of above inference:
Our North East enriched and blessed with different medicinal plant. Who can say in early days this place was a treatment centre (upoban) for difficult Diseases?
It is also known fact that ayurvedic treatment (upachar) was applied during/ after studying or judging astrology of the patient and star position as per astrology. Even Full Moon and Blue Moon and The New Moon has effect on our Physique.
The top portion of the gate depict Pisces approaching Capricorn or when Pisces is Capricorn may be the time to apply medicine to the patient or injured warriors.
This Gate seems to tell me that- “I am an introduction of this place and the concept and practices done during earlier days” and our forefathers just knew the needs of the society. So, they use to engrave on stone or different sculpture to spread the knowledge of the place. Study says during early days scripts are not that popular but the sculptures.
I do not know any study report under anthropology and archaeological is available for this Gate.
I also thought Maroon may be a king who constructed this gate…but it is so poor concept to me that I started further study as per architectural concept.

Interesting Nagaon nearer place and King if we see one is Jangal Balahu (Tiwa King) and kochari king. King Bana in Tezpur on the other side.
So, who was the king during whose period of dominance this particular maroon Satra Toran Dwar (Main Entrance Gate) constructed.
So, locally understood the king brought horse and other king brought elephant and the king brought horse he owns the battle.
But the gate sculpture and the expression on elephant reflects it took pleasure of mating.
Also, the teeth of horse having Canine is absolutely something which may happen only due
the evaluation in horse. Male horse having Canine teeth female horse not having. Otherwise, it must be much more older or from fairy tales.

My study gist
One thing can satisfy all that kamakhya...Kamrup...kama-tanra is ultimately the study on sexual activities and increase in population...to strengthen our community. If we see the king and kingdom culture then it certain that loss of human resources was too much as of now... apart from that the child death was a problem even in last two decades before.
So this place was a socio-cultural college of education in early days.
It is also learnt that this gate was constructed before the Satra inside....

4 categories of men’s and women’s described in kamasutra by vatsayan...depending their
characters and physical behaviour. The categories are
1. Sashaka, (Hare)
2. Mriga, (Deer)
3. Brisha (Bull) and
4. Ashwa (Horse) for men’s
And
1. Padmini,
2. Chitrini,
3. Sankhini and
4. Hastini (elephant) for women.
Out of above 8 categories 5 are named after animal...commonly known to people.
Here I want to add Manchurian culture most adhere or accepted the animals in their lifestyle and even in astrology.
This Maroon Satra must be once an study centre for this subject which is now a days we wanted to accept as sex education...which is related to health, personal hygiene.

"danda” a local standard of measurement scale. The standard gap between two buildings usually kept as 3 + 3 danda (stick).
